Hi, I'm rAY. Welcome to raycantv

Welcome Aboard My Journey as a Marine Electrician & QMED!

Ahoy, and welcome to the heart of the action! I’m Ray — a Marine Electrician and QMED with a career that’s taken me to the farthest corners of the globe. From the depths of the oceans to the cutting-edge world of energy, automotive, and defense, my journey has been nothing short of extraordinary.

What do I do? Well, I’m the person who ensures the lifeblood of a ship—the electrical systems—stay in perfect harmony, powering everything from critical equipment to the onboard crew’s needs. I specialize in the engineering, maintenance, and operation of intricate electrical systems that help vessels like the R/V Neil Armstrong and M/V Ocean Grand stay afloat and mission-ready. When you’re out at sea, safety is everything. That’s why I make sure every wire, every circuit, and every volt is working exactly as it should, ensuring that scientific research and operations continue seamlessly, no matter how rough the waters get.

But that’s not all. My experience doesn’t just stop at being a Marine Electrician. I’ve also worked as a Marine Engine Operator and QMED/Oiler, taking charge of maintaining and running the core systems that keep ships powered and moving. My adventure started in the U.S. Navy, where I was trained as an Engineering & Gas Turbine Electrician — the foundation that set me on this incredible path. Over the years, I’ve built a wealth of knowledge, earning certifications in Electrician High Voltage Safety, Junior Engineer, and a Merchant Marine Credential. My commitment to excellence and continuous learning keeps me at the top of my game.

But here’s the most exciting part: I travel the world. Every vessel I step aboard takes me to new lands and new faces. From the icy waters of the Arctic to the sun-kissed shores of the tropics, I’ve had the privilege of meeting extraordinary people and immersing myself in diverse cultures. These experiences not only enrich my personal life but shape the way I approach my work — bringing fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a deep appreciation for the world around me.

This website is my way of sharing this adventure with you. Whether you’re curious about the maritime industry, interested in the technical side of electrical systems, or just looking to connect with someone who’s been to places and seen things you wouldn’t believe — you’ve come to the right place.

So, take a look around, get to know the person behind the circuits, and if you’re up for a conversation or collaboration, don’t hesitate to reach out. Let’s connect and share stories from the seas and beyond!
